One of the most memorable years was ‘69 The available engine in 1969 is what is most memorable. This was the first year for the famous 350 V8 Although the Chevy 350 small block is still produced in Mexico today, its last production run in the US was 2002. The funny thing is this is one engine size you will find cut across manufacturers lines being available in GM and Ford model vehicles. The K-5 Blazer was introduced this year as well.
What happened in ‘70?From 69 to 70 very little changed in the appearance of these vehicles. There is one small change that differentiates between the two and it is in the grille.
In 71, you will see a number of changes though they are still not in the body style. Instead, Chevy opted to increase trim options. More padding and chrome were added depending on which option you chose; all options were geared towards comfort and looks. If you were one of the lucky ones to own one of these trucks in ‘71, then you know it was the first year you got to listen to FM radio
There was not any reason to change much in ‘72, the trucks were still very much a favorite. A couple very small changes like the position of the rear view mirror, and some interior wood was all that was added.
