Most people know that when you are looking for factual and informative information about just about any topic, the first place you turn is to the Discovery Channel. Sure, there have been a few low budget knock offs but one thing remains true, and that is that no other network consistently offers the depth of content. The good news is that as long as they remain the leader, others will continue to follow.

Laughter really is good medicine! We all have days when we feel like we’d have been ahead to just stay in bed and fuggedaboutit. When you’ve had a bad day, fix a couple of tempting snacks and settle down on the couch with a good comedy TV show. While sitcoms are not my usual fare, when I need a little laughter, this type of comedy TV series fills the bill.
Millions of Americans wake up to the Today show during the week and the Weekend Today show because they known they will be informed and entertained. The Saturday and Sunday show, which airs on NBC, is a mix of news, human interest stories, interviews and reports on topics such as health and money. There are regular weather reports and the news headlines are given every half hour. The show is broadcast from the Rockefeller Plaza in New York City and airs on Saturdays at 7 – 9am ET and on Sundays at 8 – 9am ET.
Much has come about in the world of television. For the longest time, if you wanted to save your favorite shows for a later date, you had to know how to work your VCR, and even that was hit or miss. You may for get to put in a tape, or perhaps you put one in that needed to be rewound. Even a power failure would be a problem as it would not reset right when the power came back on. It’s good to have a show that the entire family can sit and watch together. From 1979 to 1985, the CBS network broadcast the Dukes of Hazzard and it became one of the most popular shows ever. There were seven seasons of car chases and various adventures set in the fictional Hazzard County in Georgia.
