When you think of solar lights, what image comes to mind? Most people will picture big, ugly solar panels with wires going to very plain, boring light fixtures that don’t match the home at all. Luckily, this is no longer the case with today’s modern solar lighting technology. The photovoltaic (solar) cells have shrunk in size and grown in efficiency; needing less and less light to produce more energy. The integration of Ni-cad rechargeable batteries into the design of the fixture allows for the storing of more of the energy gathered by the solar cells. The bulbs themselves have evolved from the older incandescent and CFL bulbs to LED bulbs that do a much better job of turning energy into light.

The route to a successful outcome in any project starts by clearly defining the objective, and in that respect installing outdoor solar lighting is no different. Ask yourself whether you want to provide an evening entertainment area, improve security and/or safe access, or simply add an extra visual dimension to your garden at night.

Everybody today agrees that an eco-friendly home is the right thing. Environmentally friendly garden lighting is one way to green up your home.

As the use of LED lights and solar cells continues to grow, so also does the opportunity for solar decorations in the yard. From solar-powered water fountains to solar-powered gnomes, there are creations for every age, taste, and time of day.

Home lighting means more than just the lights inside the house. It also refers to the outdoor lights that many homeowners place in their backyards and surrounding areas. Outdoor lighting is used to not only beaqutify your home but also light up the dark areas around your house and improve visibility and security.
