The vast network of highways and roadways that crisscross the country attract countless motorists out onto the pavement every year, many of them yearning for some adventure or thrill just on the other side of the horizon. It is with that notion of adventure that many people end up choosing to bring with them as much of their possessions (or at least the necessary ones) as possible.

Oh how I wish it were warmerisnt it APRIL?!? Thankfully despite the cold weather, I have a dog who could care less. Blizzard, monsoon or hurricane, Janey just wants to be outside. So I invested in a few warm sweaters and a good jacket and away we go. One thing I plan on doing this summer (hint hint Mother Nature!) is taking a few road trips.

Back when I was a kid, planning a road trip was a pretty primitive practice. The most sophisticated thing that we ever did in road trip planning was going to AAA. They would pull out a whole book of maps and plan our route out for us. Basically, they would give us a copy of a sheet for each day of our trip. It would have the route drawn out in red marker.
