When you go to a wedding you might expect to hear some jokes with heavy sarcastic or ironic undertones, or jokes with comedic relief that you have heard 20 times in the last 20 days from 20 different people. Others may contain slapstick or drunken idiot humor. Unfortunately, while some of these approaches might get a few people laughing, they are generally unsuitable choices as far as funny wedding speeches go.
The fear of public speaking is, for most people, almost a physical thing, one they can virtually touch and feel. Of all the things they most dread having to do, this ranks right up there, usually way above having to visit the dentist.

You would think that the fear of dying would be more common, but if you look around, many sources state that people fear speaking in public more. Though there are different reasons why each person hates this, it usually comes down to acceptance. We fear we are going to make a fool of ourselves in front of everyone we know. Its mostly an unreasonable fear, but it is a huge one none-the-less.
