I know, kickboxing karate doesn’t really exist, but it does make a fine translation of arts. I was engaged in teaching a martial arts class, and I had one student whose father liked to go to the bar next door and enjoy himself while his son was getting healthy and strong. After class one day, the father staggered in and pulled out a gun and pointed it at me, and he made the remark that karate isn’t any good if a guy has a gun. I took the pistol from him, held it in my hand, looked at him, and grinned.
