But even most savvy Macintosh users don’t know that screensavers used to serve a technical function. Screen savers first came about in the days when computers had monochrome CRT monitors. They were designed to prevent phosphor burn-in, and those screensavers served their purpose well, flying toasters, swimming fish, tail-wagging puppies and all.

However, where the old Lotus Notes is reminiscent of simple contact management databases, today’s Mac-Based Lotus notes is a tad more contemporary. Aside from enjoying its primary email client function, you can now use the application to produce blogs, RSS aggregators, wikis, and help desk and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. If you want to add some personal touch, you can customize the many applications of Lotus Notes using the Domino Designer. The application is not a unanimous choice by Mac users, but it has a huge base of patrons who find the features of Lotus Notes a cut above the rest.
