Children find it enormously delightful and easy to understand, the hooked on phonics system of learning. That is why this scheme of child education is getting pace over the years. It is more of a confidence building practice over and above the teaching method for children. The children over seven are the most primed candidates to benefit from this method of training due to the fact that they can recognize between the phonetics of vowels and consonants.

2 Apr 2009When everyday tasks are boring, many adults have a hard time finding meaning in them. The reality is, teens are also required to do many seemingly boring tasks. They get bogged down by them and simply lose motivation. Students often disconnect from their schoolwork and their home life because they cannot find a reason to be interested. Because of their experience with life, adults can adapt and even find meaning in mundane things much easier than teens can. But unmotivated students don’t see the benefit in things they consider boring. Lack of motivation keeps kids and teens from seeing any good they can get out of the tedious things they do. There are several methods used to try and raise a student’s motivation – after school help, tutoring, and even special school programs can help move students along – but often they don’t move them forward. Motivation continues to stay low if a student doesn’t take an interest in what he’s doing.

It’s not easy for many adults to take on the so-called boring tasks in their lives. It’s even more of a challenge to find motivation in students who seem completely uninterested in their class, its subject, or even the teacher. Although adults can often find meaning in what they do easier than teens, they too can learn more about the benefits of even the most mundane responsibilities. This is not true of unmotivated teens. Because they have little life experience, unmotivated teens cannot recognize benefit in things they don’t like. How to raise a student’s motivation is a question many educators ask on a regular basis. Special tutors, additional help before or after school from a teacher, and more involvement by parents can be of some help, but unless the student takes an interest in what he’s doing, his motivation will continue to stay low.

No student wants to spend their summer stuck in summer school. Many would describe it as boring, monotonous, and sometimes a bit too general given the amount of time there is. It’s no wonder why students would rather be doing anything but go to summer school during their time between school sessions.

7 Mar 2009Decisions about friends, parents, school, studying, college, and future careers can all weigh heavily on a teenager. Sometimes these decisions are influenced by outside factors like peer pressure and hormones. These sorts of decisions are not always easy to thwart. Other times, decisions are reached using a teenager’s best judgment and limited life experience. Many parents may agree, not every situation falls into a black and white area; sometimes a frame of reference is needed to help push teens along the right moral path.
