These renewable resources come from wind, water, rain, sunlight and geothermal heat. Currently around 20 per cent of the world’s energy comes from the renewable energy sources. The vast majority of this comes from burning wood. The second most common form of renewable energy that is in use in the world today comes from hydroelectricity which provides three per cent of the world’s electricity.

2 Jun 2009With dwindling supplies of fossil fuels and a rapidly rising population, humanity is starting to turn to renewable energy sources. Such sources of energy come from the natural functions of the earth, are cleaner for the environment, and, of course, we don’t need to worry about the running out. Renewable energy is derived from forces created by water, sunlight, wind and geothermal energy, which utilises the natural heat of the planet Earth.
