When you’re waiting at a traffic light, stop sign, or any circumstance in which your car idles, that is when the engine produces the lowest level of emissions it ever will. Idling is critical for your vehicle’s engine to remain in operation without requiring fuel. Unfortunately, problems manifest; engines can die while idling. The challenge is determining the root cause.

Most people drive vehicles that run smoothly (usually) with sophisticated computer-controlled parts and systems. Indeed, the automotive industry has striven to design parts that are far more precise than those used in cars over twenty years ago. But, there are many car enthusiasts who still drive vehicles that use mechanical parts. In fact, these people not only own, but revel in maintaining their automotive relics of the past. Most of them use carburetors (or, carbs) instead of fuel injection systems.
