Alcoholism, also known as alcohol dependence, is a disease that includes the following four symptoms: Loss of control- Not being able to stop drinking once drinking has begun. Craving – A strong need, or urge, to drink. Physical dependence- Withdrawal symptoms, such as nausea, sweating, shakiness, and anxiety after stopping drinking. Tolerance-The need to drink greater amounts of alcohol to get “high.”

Unfortunately the majority of alcoholics just never get help in time, and refuse to reach out for help until it is too late. If only they had just realized that they had indeed had a problem and that at least somebody had managed to have to perseverance to get the message through. Sometimes though a tragic stories can lead to help other people and even react if they are able to see the same thing happening in their own life. Obviously those who suffer most are an alcoholics direct family so as we all have family this story should be easy enough to relate to.

Whether you are an alcoholic or just a heavy drinker, the time has come to stop drinking alcohol. It is a very big step to take and one that will change the rest of your life, but it is the right decision, so we are going to look at the best ways to keep on track and keep off the booze.

Most of the time those of us that drink avoid the issue of alcohol abuse and perhaps for a little while that is a good idea but you cannot avoid it forever. Unhappily, over the long haul this can lead to problems, both real and mythical, that early and productive awareness might have helped avoid because the problem here is the mythology – not alcohol itself.

Many people drink for a toast or for a social occasion. But many people drink excessively which is a whole different ball game. Excessive drinking can take a toll on your everyday life. Many college students binge drink and this is not good.

The seriousness and severity of alcoholism and drug addiction are massively underestimated – because do enough people understand their dangers and the damage that they can cause?

The problem of drug addiction and alcoholism are escalating and spreading to levels totally out of control. But is enough being done? Are people actually aware of the real dangers and damage that alcohol and drugs can cause?
