The creation vs evolution fight has been going on since the days of Darwin. Secular scientists claim that the proof is irrefutable, and that Christians hold old to the creation explanation in denial. Christians claim that their source of truth trumps all, and that an evolutionary view is as much a spiritual as a scientific view. Before going further, just what does each side believe?

Creation Theorists believe that the earth was made by God in six days. The account of this event can be found in the Biblical book of Genesis. This text, many Christians believe is the only source of proof needed. Many Christians also cite that there are holes in the theory of evolution, which negate its credibility.

Evolutionists believe that man has evolved over time to become what he is today. This advancement occurs by survival of the fittest, a proverbial “weeding out” of traits that don’t adapt well to the environment. Evolutionists proof rests in a combination of scientific evidence and theory. Some evolutionists claim that the Biblical account is just a metaphor, and some discount the Bible entirely.

Not every person who subscribes to one of these view points is strict in their interpretation. There are Christians who agree with parts of evolutionary theory, and there are atheist scientists who disagree with it. This is an issue that has many layers to it. The opinions on this issue are countless.

This is a major issue in the minds of some scientists and Christians. Many opinions have been put forth about this topic, and a lot of discussion has surrounded it. This issue can sometimes get so heated that the argument becomes more emotional than factual

Brilliant and highly educated people have disagreed on this for years, as have uneducated people. Neither side is likely to “win” this argument any time soon.
