24 May 2009As information about astral travel is becoming more widespread, more people are also gaining interest. The biggest source of motivation for some is the idea that it is not an innate ability, but the methods that can be learned. Indeed, only a few people have managed to separate themselves from the physical body and reach a whole new dimension different from what you’ve been used to. If you are interested in this method, below are information you need to know about.
Types and Influences of Astral Travel – There are two basic types of out-of-body experiences and travels: spontaneous and deliberate. In spontaneous, your bodies go through the natural process of separation from the physical body, which typically happens during sleep when your mind is at rest. This results to the taking over of your subconscious and eventually taking control over your astral body. Aside from sleeping, astral projection could also happen during several other circumstances such as during meditation, while resting, or when in trance. This is because your senses become heightened that expose your subconscious to several possibilities of travel to various astral planes.
The deliberate process of astral travel also produces a heightened level of sensitivity and energy, with the main difference being that you produce them at will.
Coping With Dualities – Those who are new to traveling in the astral planes are often confused by the different experience. Since you are traveling on a different dimension, your astral body will be wandering through unfamiliar territories. There is nothing about its features that can be associated with places in the “real” world and it involves a lot of vagueness all around. Dualities are certainly quite common with this experience, whether in the setting or in yourself. Aside from the duality that exists between your two types of bodies, you will encounter several more unfamiliar elements in the astral plane that will contribute to the confusion.
As for the existing dual features of your astral and physical body, it really is easy for them to overlap. You start off with the type of consciousness that is associated with each one. Many people who experience astral travel are frightened with the idea of watching their own bed sleeping on a bed fast asleep. To get over this confusion over your consciousness of the body to which you belong, you can apply some practical techniques. If you dislike looking at your physical body, then it is best to turn away and keep traveling. If not, then you can return to your physical body and resume your normal physical state. If you keep practicing the method of astral projection, you will eventually learn the techniques of how to handle this different consciousness.
Returning To Your Body – Before attempting on an out of body travel, you need to know that it is entirely safe. Compare this to dreaming; only you have a more conscious participation in the process. Many opt not to follow this procedure in fear of not being able to return to their physical body. A few others worry about not being able to locate their bodies or finding it in time to get safely back in. However, getting out of your physical body is the more difficult part of the entire process. You can return to your body almost instantaneously.
Many have qualms about out of body travel because of the false assumption that it is unsafe. This method is as safe as dreaming with the only difference being you have more control over which direction you go. One of the biggest source of fear concerns the ability to return to the physical body. There are several underlying fears in this, such as not being able to locate the physical body or not being prompt enough in the return. What you need to realize is that the process of separation from the physical body is the more difficult part. Returning to the body is almost an instinctive process. As with the level of concentration you need to awaken the astral body, you are also required to do the same to be able to return successfully. There are normal occurrences that you might notice such as vibrations, noises, or light. A Silver Cord is what connects your physical body to its astral counterpart; hence both bodies remain coordinated all throughout despite the difference in the realm to which they are situated. Once you have completed your astral travel, your physical body is ready for your to get back to safely.
