One cannot just do hypnosis randomly you have to obtain consent for the person you want to hypnotise. Hypnosis is broken down into different categories like the professional type and the type you can do on yourself as well as the entertainment type. Hypnosis and autosuggestion must not be confused as they are different in many ways. True hypnosis takes a few sessions before positive results are seen and the medical fraternity use hypnosis frequently.

Meditation is powerful tools in helping the person alter their state of consciousness. Breathing exercises can also alter the state of consciousness but getting the person to take slow deep breathes. On inhalation they can see the air coming in as a beautiful bright force with love and good energy and on exhalation they can see the tension leaving in the form of a dark cloud. The person will become completely relaxed within a space of around ten to twenty minutes. Then you can start with the meditation or autosuggestion.
There are many different meditations which are very effective and the best ones are that have some type of water feature as well as flora and fauna. Staircases are also often whereby to the count of ten down the steps and then again when the meditation is complete there is a count of ten up the stairs. You will get the feel as to what works best for you and the person concerned and that will also avoid resistance.
Once you see that the person is hypnotised and have reached that altered state of consciousness you can then begin to direct them. Getting people to do things against their will it certainly not the purpose of hypnosis and there is nothing dangerous or evil about this practice either all hypnosis should be used for it to help people gain control over their own lives.
