If you want an extended battery life then try using an LED lantern. There are some types that will stay light for many days on one charge and the ones with a crank are good for people who don’t care if they have to exert a little bit of effort to light up their night. It also helps for those who want to be environmentally friendly. Usually cranks on the rechargeable just provide couple minutes of light, therefore many cranks are required if you want to have light for the duration of your evening.

Solar powered flashlights and lanterns are also becoming a great addition to camping gear. Since they only use solar power these lighting sources are less expensive as batteries are not needed. Simply let them charge up during the daytime and turn them on after dark.
