The majority of the solutions we use to handle pollution of the air we breathe have been to decrease the amount of emissions from factories and the vehicles that we drive. The general thought is that we can put some control on the situation but not get rid of it entirely.
However, we do have some methods to produce solutions with the technology that is available to us. A very unique method to solve pollution is to use negative ion technology. Negative ions are created from an electrically charged atom or several atoms that are formed from the gain or loss of a single or many positive electrons.
In layman terms, negative ion technology works similar to magnets. Positive and negative magnets are attracted to each other. The technology presently exists to use negative ion air purifiers for the home. The purifier attracts the unhealthy stuff in the air which then lands in the filter system.
Imagine, if you will, increasing that technology in size. Lots of air purifiers would be needed to handle the amount of air outside and maybe, the technology can be implemented and used with the street lamp poles that are in every city and sometimes in towns, too. The pollution in the air would be drawn to the poles then create piles of debris. It would just be a simple matter to sweep it up.
Another solution is good old trees. Trees are our best “weapon” against air pollution. Trees breathe in pollutants and breathe out fresh air. A single tree can absorb about 48 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
While you are outside taking a walk, running or jogging, watch for seed pods. You can start the most incredible trees such as pine, fruit and flowering trees like this. Plant the trees in your yard or, if you are a condominium or apartment dweller, you can grow trees in a planter.
Another place that trees can be planted in a city are on the flat rooftops of apartment, factory and other buildings. Trees wouldn’t be able to grow directly on the rooftop, containers would be needed. Once done, it would not only look beautiful but also give shade to the building and street below. To make it even more attractive, smaller plants can be grown under the rooftop trees.
Right now, today and this minute, you can do something effective about the pollution in the air we breathe.
