Massage Chairs At The Consumer Electronics Show Are Stunning

This year I went to the Las Vegas 2009 Consumer Electronics Show or CES. This is the largest tradeshow for electronic manufacturers in the whole world. Everything that is new, innovative or hot is on display and most can be tried out. I walked the whole show and was particularly interested in the top massage chairs. These electronic and robotic wonders are getting more effective and sophisticated. Here are some of the best massage chairs that I found.

One of the more interesting massage chairs at the show was the Dream Wave Sogno. The Dream Wave Sogno was the winner of the CES 2009 Innovation Award for its advanced designed and sophistication. This massage recliner has some amazing technology.

One of the features of the Sogno is its air compression massage system. This massage chair has airbags for the neck, arms, hands and most other parts of the body. The air massage around the neck area is very soothing and relieving. This is perhaps the best air compression design for the neck area on the market today. The arm airbags were less impressive as I did not really receive much effectiveness.

The Sogno comes with a rocking seat which is built on a pivot to provide ergonomic support for your spinal column. It makes a wave-like movement to help relieve stress on the spine. This gentle rocking motion is what provides the Dream Wave name for the Sogno. There is some impressive technology in the Dream Wave massage chair and its price is a bit lofty at $6,000.

I did get to try the most expensive massage chair at the CES Show. The $8,000 Fujiiryoki massage chair was by far the most expensive. The Fujiiryoki massage chair has an FDA device listing and was being billed as a medical chair. This massage recliner comes with a shoulder press massage. The shoulder press is powered by an air compressor which activates airbags to squeeze both shoulders with a compression massage.

The Fujiiryoki recliner provides for a soothing back massage and has some effective techniques. The chair back pads are thick material but a bit hard to the body. The air massage covers the feet, calves, seat, arms and shoulders. The design is fairly contemporary. The shoulder press requires an extra attachment to the sides of the chair and is a tough design element to hide in most houses.

Now, having tried the most expensive chairs at the CES, I was interested in how the Omega Montage Premier would compare. I liked the neck massage of the Sogno and the shoulder compression of the Fujiiryoki. The Montage Premier, however, gave a stronger massage and penetrated deeper. Another note was the supplemental items such as music, full body heat and a traction system which the Montage Premier had but were lacking in the others.

The Montage Premier also can fit taller people like me better. I am 6 2 and I have trouble finding a massage chair that really fits my frame. The leg rest of the Montage Premier can be extended an extra 4 inches. The chair back is also longer than the other chairs and was more comfortable to sit in. At $4,500, the Montage Premier was a deal.

I also surveyed the entire show for Sanyo and Panasonic who have some great massage chairs. Neither of those companies were displaying their massage chairs this year. They did have some impressive Big Screen TV’s with crystal clear images. There were an assortment of other massage chairs, but they were just at the show to sell you a massage chair. I was afraid they may not be at the show next year as they seemed a bit too high pressure to buy.

I also tried a variety of massage chairs form all sorts of companies. I tell you this is hard work. Some of these chairs are poorly designed or have ineffective massage therapies, so I won’t name any names here. There are always companies that are out for a quick buck. I always ask the company if they sell to retailers. If they don’t then I am always concerned with warranty problems down the road.

I tell you the CES 2009 was an amazing show with every conceivable and unique electronic devices all under one roof. I was fortunate to try many massage chairs from some great companies. The most impressive were the Montage Premier, Fujiiryoki and the Dream Wave. These are certainly impressive pieces of technology and will provide years of excellent massage therapy at the touch of a button. If you have a chance, check them out and see which is best for you.

You will find the Consumer Electronics show or CES is in early January each year in Las Vegas. This massive show brings you almost 3,000 vendors of every gadget in the electronic world. The technology is amazing as you can find big screens, to cell phones to security systems. The massage chairs are amazing as well. It is something to see and experience the cutting edge of technology.

The CES is certainly the show case for the Top Massage Chairs in the World. You will see a showcase of everything electronic, the World has to offer. For more information, check out our massage chair reviews and articles. We feature the best brands of massage chairs for all your needs.
