When you want to buy a cheap TV, there are many things to consider. The price of the TV is one, but you will also want to know what the cost will be to fix the TV if there is a problem, where to go to get replacement parts, and how good of a quality is the TV itself. Take care to learn the difference between cheap TVs and expensive TVs before you make your purchase.

When you buy an expensive brand name TV, you are often paying an inflated rate for the privilege of owning a name. Major brands such as Sony, Samsung and Hitachi may retail at a price that you cannot afford. It is possible to find a cheap TV that works just as well, but does not break the bank.

There are different reasons that cheaper TVs can be bought for less cash. Many of these models come from places such as China where the companies are very rarely known. Costs of selling the TVs are low since these companies are not ones that are generally used as much as the bigger ones.

When you buy a cheaper TV, it may come from a large company that puts out TVs with many different labels on them. So if the TV you buy only lasts you 3 years, you may not realize that your next purchase is coming from the same company, even if your TV comes with a different label on it. Most consumers will simply think they are trying a whole new company.

A cheap TV may be more likely to break or need repairs than those that come from the better known manufacturers. Cheaper TV sets will not have the best quality parts installed in them, and may not work as well. Many consumer review reports will recommend purchasing a TV that is a better brand so that the quality is much better, even at a higher price.

A cheaper TV set may not be as easily fixed if it happens to break. If the TV comes from some other country and has a broken part, it can be next to impossible to find a replacement part. If you do order it, it could take many weeks to get it in. Many companies think that if they make it difficult to get a part for a cheap TV that the consumer may simply give up and buy a new one from them.

When you buy a cheap TV set, you may not get a good warranty on it. A brand-name TV company will almost always offer to exchange the product or repair it for free if there are a lot of problems with the set. With a cheaper TV, you may not be able to get repairs done, or exchange it for anything else.

The major brand name TVs are much better designed, along with having the newest plasma TV features and bells and whistles that everyone is looking for. It may make more sense to buy a quality TV from a major brand name than a cheap TV from a company that no one has heard from before.
