You just brought your new puppy home and he won’t stop whining. Your neighbors are starting to complain and you’re at your ropes end. You don’t want to get rid of the new pup, but at the same time you want to stop the dog from whining.

How do you go about doing this? There are a few ways you can go about stopping your dog from whining. One of the ways is by the use of an electrical device that will emit a noise only the dog can hear that is not very pleasant. The other way to stop your dog from whining is to remain consistent with it to tell it to stop whenever you hear the dog beginning to whine.

This can be a bit troublesome since you have to be there every time, or at least most of the time. But given enough time, your dog will probably stop whining and be quiet. Using Devices

It will not cost you a lot of money in order to purchase those devices that we have mentioned above. Also, the device is not going to hurt your pet dog. All it does is to give up some extremely unpleasant noise that dogs hate to hear. Just imagine yourself smoking. Every time you light up a cigarette, you will hear a loud piercing squeal. And you just cannot stand that sound and you don’t want to hear it anymore. Sooner or later, you will stop smoking so that you will not hear that noise again.

This is the general idea behind these devices that make your dog stop whining. If you’re not sure about the devices and you don’t like the idea of annoying your dog, or you’re fearful that the device will in fact hurt your dog, there are always other ways to go about making your dog stop whining than using these devices.

Consistency In Training

The other way to make your dog stop whining is to be there whenever he starts to whine. When it does, make a loud noise or tell him no. Do not ever hit the dog. You should never hit the animal no matter what behavior he engages in.

Hitting your dog is not an effective training method anyway. There are better methods you can use to stop your pet from whining besides hitting him. You can consider clapping your hands together or slapping a newsletter against your hand to stop any inappropriate behavior your dog engages in.

Due to the fact that dogs have sensitive ears, the methods discussed above work well. Although a newspaper slapped against your palm is probably not going to bother you. But it certainly bothers the dog. Every time your dog starts to whine, do it and do it often. Be consistent and sooner or later, your dog will just stop whining. You and your neighbors will then be able to enjoy the must needed and deserved peace.
