Step 1 – Pick a Market

Although you may think you’d start with a product, it’s best to come up with a market. Later you may want to have various products, so coming up with a good market is key. Choose one you like and ensure you research it as well.

2. Choose Your Product

Once you know who your target market is, it’s time to find a product which will appeal to these consumers. You’ll want to offer more than one product, but it’s best to start with just one.

Don’t try to offer too much all at once when you’re getting started. Focus on a single product and once you’re up to the challenge, add more to your business plan.

You are better off to go with one product. Once you make that product successful, then you can go on to sell other products as well.

3. Start an Autoresponder Series

Once you get your affiliate marketing business started, you’ll need to be able to follow up with people who are interested in what you have to offer. Use an auto-responder to send a series of emails to people who sign up for your list.

Suppose you’re selling golf bags. Your series should include content which is about golf bags and other golf equipment and the game in general. Keep it interesting to your readers.

Be creative here. You aren’t going to make a lot of sales right away – but provide useful, interesting content in your series and you will start to see some significant sales in three to six months.

Step 4 – Build An Opt-In Form

Add a page to your site where prospects can give you their email address to receive your email series. You will need a website for your affiliate marketing business, of course; make this page a part of it.

The website you have can show off the products that you want to promote. Also it comes in handy for capturing the contact information so you can send promotional emails.

Step 5 – Start Bringing In Traffic

Use traffic generation methods to get people to your site. You won’t see the difference overnight, but little by little your traffic will grow. The sooner you start, the sooner you’ll get results.

Try using several methods to see which works the best for you and stick with this method.

Step 6 – Add additional Related Products

Later when you begin to bring in plenty of money with just the one affiliate product, then consider adding on some other related products to your site. Just make sure you carefully select the products you are going to add on.

You always want to start out with one really great product and work on getting great results. Put all your efforts into the success of this product in the beginning and build up a good contact list as well.

Use your list of contacts and the site you have up to successfully advertise your product. Bring in traffic with great traffic generation techniques as well.

After you are able to successfully earn with one product, then start adding on products and use this same process all over again.
