Part One of the Weekly Craft Show

New Year’s Eve is almost here, and it’s a sign heralding the arrival of spring. I have been working almost constantly on my crafted items so I will be able to participate in the My Weekly Farmer’s Market, which is set to happen in April. I enjoyed myself during the last market; and as there were a lot of inquiries about how I set up at this weekly event, I decided to collate all the articles. I hope this will encourage you to take the plunge and run your own booth there.

These are basically things that I have learned the hard way; through trial and error. The information that I will discuss below will be specific to the weekly show as opposed to a one-time thing. So, without further interruptions, read on!

What particular items could you sell at a weekly show? And aside from that, how do you get customers to stop by your booth or stall and buy something? It seems that variety has done a lot for me. People returning to a weekly market are less likely to go by your booth if they don’t see anything new, based on my experience. They can, after all, have only so much of a particular thing that you are selling. Add more things and try to rotate your wares, but try to keep yourself in a cozy little niche, too.

Besides simply offering a variety of products, it is important for you to offer a wide array of price points. While many people will buy something at five dollars, these same individuals will not be bothered to pay fifteen or twenty dollars on something else, even if they want it more. With that in mind, have lower priced items in your booth.

Listening to your customers is also a good way to get improvements. They will often make comments on your crafts, and they will be more likely to do so if you ask for it in particular. Don’t shrug it off when they give advice! This will really help a lot.
