Saving money on home heating appliances these days is super critical given the recession. So if you want to save some serious money on your water heating bills, get a tankless water heater and save up to 75% on your energy bills a year.

Our old appliances have about had the biscuit and they’re costing us some serious dollars every year, and that is money we don’t have right now. It’s time to take a leap into the future and get appliances that save money and are more energy efficient and responsible.

The old water heater in your basement takes up so much space it reminds you of an elephant. It can’t be moved and it isn’t doing anymore much good just sitting there, sucking up power and driving your energy bills up. It’s time to make a few energy efficient changes around the house.

It used to be only 40 and 60-gallon water heaters that people had in their homes. Then over the years when going green and being more energy efficient caught on, the older heaters were regarded as being energy hogs that cost people big money. Now consumers can opt for a tankless water heater.

From all the material out on the marketplace about the tankless water heater, the savings are enough to raise eyebrows, not just because it saves on energy consumption, but because it pays the homeowner back quite handsomely in the long run.

Tankless water heaters provide instant hot water. Yes, instant and they also function on demand because they don’t have a holding tank to store pre-heated water. Think about this for a minute. If there is not storage, a tankless water heater’s life span is twice as long as the old clunker system because there is less chance of rust and corrosion. That’s a major bonus.

The electric tankless water heaters heat water passing over an element. This type of heater would be hardwired to your circuit breaker/electrical panel. One thing to note though, the electric tankless water heaters has less capacity and are not ideal for large families. So check this out before making a purchasing decision.

Gas tankless water heaters use a gas burner and youd need a gas line in your home to where the heater will be installed. It’s a super replacement unit for the old clunker 40-gallon models. Either way you could save up to 75% on your energy bill, have an endless supply of hot water, save space and have your tankless water heater a lot longer than the conventional one.
