Is your bedroom looking drab and boring to look at? Has your tiny devil just done some work of art on the wall? Well, don’t blame him, for he too finds it boring. Let’s just ponder about this, if you did have an elegant bedroom you would surely watch his movements every time you saw him with a crayon. On second thought, if you did have an elegant bedroom you would just allow him to use the crayon on his bedroom wall or may be buy a big board for him to express himself.
Here are 5 easy to do redecorating ideas:
First, organize. Nothing beats a clean and orderly bedroomor any room at that. It’s time to put your clothes back to where they belong – the closet. Time too to place the books and magazines to where they should be – the shelf or rack. Those cosmetics strewn around might do your feet more harm than good, so pack them up in your cosmetics bag or organizer. Seriously, clean up your bedroom and see how it becomes an instant makeover technique. Your room will look like a brand new living space.
Second, choose your color. It’s easier to decorate when you have a color to base your selections from. You can also pick out a theme if you can’t decide on a color. If you’re more of a contemporary gal, neutral shades or black and white are good choices. If you’re more country however, cool and light colors look good. Artistic and bohemian personalities dig bold colors while the more old-fashioned and classic go with the clean, light hues. The color of the season whether in fashion or the real season (you know, the climate) is a trendy pick but expect that vogues change faster than you think. If you really like the color, then no problem! You can stick with it for a long time. But if you’re just following the trend, think twice if you’re willing to repaint every 3 months or so.
Matching curtains, counterpanes and rugs – Check out matching curtains with big floral prints, with matching self-color bed sheets and rugs to accentuate the room. Changing the angle of the bed would give you a different perspective. A small rug placed at the side of your bed would give your feet a soft landing when you wake up every morning.
Personalize your room by displaying photos, souvenir items and the like. You might have some pretty things that you can use as decors. No, I don’t mean your colorful laundry and candy wrappers you’ve intentionally shaped as ribbons.
Choose furniture that you can add to the bedroom other than the typical bed, dresser and cabinet. How about putting a bookshelf or a study table and chair? An oversized comfy chair will look nice too especially if paired with a round or oblong area rug. Given of course that there’s still space to use. You don’t want to be squeezing yourself between the bed and dresser just to get to the door.
Easy, aren’t they? In a day or two, you can change your bedroom into a brand new place. No longer will indifference and disinterest inhabit your private haven.
