21 Feb 2009Lower back pain is often caused by a herniated or bulging disc. This is a condition where the inner gel portion of the disc has broken through the outer fibers. The soft gel like center of the disc is typically held in place by the fibrous outer bands of tissue. After the central portion of the disc has migrated through the outer fibers it can cause pain through inflammation or mechanical pressure on other structures resulting in lower back pain or leg pain. If left untreated it may become life altering.
Natural aging, trauma, repetitive motions or even stress can cause a disc to herniate or even bulge. Pain will vary in different locations, depending on which structures are affected. As the muscles and fibers age, it weakens and make it even more prone to bulging or hernia.
Herniated discs have variating symptoms which makes it even difficult to diagnose. However if there is a constant pain that radiate to legs and feet may be because of a herniated disc. Pain can be aggravated by coughing, sneezing or even laughing. A patient with herniated disc can feel weakness of the muscles, tingling or numbness. Getting appropriate treatment for this situation is necessary to avoid permanent structural damage.
Patients with herniated disc can also experience neck pain that can involve shoulder, arms, hands and even fingers. Neck pain can be aggravated by simple neck and head movements. Lower back pain is still the primary complaint of patients with herniated discs.
Most of the medical procedures given to patients with herniated discs are invasive or surgical. However a new alternative treatment is developed. Spinal decompression is given to patients with herniated disc and facet syndrome. This method uses a patented computer system that creates a negative pressure within the disc space. This procedure draws the bulging back into place which will eventually heal the damaged area.
Non-surgical spinal decompression utilizing the DRX9000 creates the negative pressures by utilizing a logarithmic pulling mechanism. This specific curve bypasses the typical guarding mechanism that is common with the spinal muscles. The technology necessary to apply spinal decompressive forces is patented and The DRX9000 True Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression System utilizes high-speed treatment computers to calculate the logarithmic spinal decompression treatment curve for each patient. Recently published clinical research data demonstrates very promising results for patients suffering with herniated or bulging discs.
In the United States alone, lower back pain because of herniated disc is very common. However with the recent development of DRX9000 Non-surgical spinal decompression system, this provides the best alternative method for patients who are avoiding invasive procedures such as surgery.
