28 May 2009Are you finding it hard to meditate? Have you given up because you can’t reach the meditation frequencies and stay there for some period of time? Meditation can be difficult for some people and brainwave entrainment can help you achieve that state in a matter of minutes or days – not weeks or months.
We often get to a meditative state without our being aware of it. Watching TV shows can bring you to an alpha state level and everything you hear and see acts as a suggestion to your subconscious mind which can be devastating to your health depending on the show. Idling or daydreaming can also bring you to that meditative state. The mental chatter however is not controlled and it is the object of meditation to subdue the mental chatter and allow the messages from the infinite storehouse of knowledge and creativity that our subconscious holds to surface to our conscious awareness.
Attaining meditation can be done by examining the parts of your body one by one. Starting with your head, notice if there are any tension in the muscles. If there are, consciously relax those muscles. Move down to your forehead, cheeks, nose and all the rest of your body till you reach your toes. By then you should have reached a meditative state.
Thinking of a simple thing can also bring you to a desired meditative state. Imagine a basketball in your mind. Imagine a single light source coming from the left. Let the ball rotate. Notice the shadows of the bumps and grooves create. Notice the smell and color of the ball. With practice this can bring you to a meditative frequency.
Meditation needs practice and the goal is to tame the mental chatter as to let the messages from the unconscious surface to conscious awareness. With lesser negative thoughts accompanying the mental chatter, the subconscious mind can perform better in managing the various bodily functions which it is responsible for. This means better health and lessens the stress.
By listening to sounds made with brainwave entrainment, the brain follows the frequency of the sound producing the targeted brain wave frequency. A well advertised brainwave entrainment is binaural beats but it requires headphones to make it effective.
There are other entrainment technologies that are more superior to binaural beats and may not require headphones. Isochronic tones provides better entrainment than binaural beats and monaural beats.
Among the three technologies, isochronic tones are more effective. You can reach the alpha level quicker but the tone may not be appealing to some people. All you will hear is a toot toot toot sound similar to a helicopter.
Using isochronic tones or other brainwave technology, a person can reach the desired meditative state of the alpha and theta waves in a matter of minutes. There are persons though who need to use it several times before they can reach a desired entrainment.
Practice meditation to become more creative, have more focus and concentration, be stress free and live a more joyful life. Brainwave entrainment can make it easier for you to achieve the meditative state.
