Straining to push bowels or regular pushing against the anus can cause the varicose veins in that area to become irritated. If not cared for properly, rectal bleeding and soreness can occur. To avoid a doctor’s visit, you can consider these seven tops to heal hemorrhoids at home.
Step 1 – Drink More Water. Studies suggest that at least 8 glasses of water should be consumed daily. When you drink enough water, it can work as a stool softner that costs nothing. Make sure the glasses are 8 ounces and drink up.
Step 2 – Stop Exercising Too Hard. Weight lifting and cycling are great for getting in shape but can wreak havoc on your hemorrhoids. Try doing some swimming, aerobics or yoga while sensitive muscles get some rest from the pressure and strain that makes hemorrhoids flare. Return to regular exercise when healed.
Step 3 – Use An Over-the-Counter Hemorrhoid Remedy. Available without a prescription, these treatments come in several varieties which include creams, pads and ointments. Step 5 – Add Dietary Fiber. When you were a growing up as a kid, mom said eat your fiber and she was exactly right. Too little fiber in your diet can not only cause hard stools but also constipation. Peanut butter, many delicious legumes, fresh vegetables and fruits are excellence dietary fiber sources that keep stools soft.
Step 6 – Suppositories Work Too. Most non-prescription strength suppositories are made of similar ingredients. Try using a generic brand that costs less and provides the same effect. Or petroleum jelly may be the cheapest solution of all.
Step 7 – Try a Warm Bath. You can soak in a sitz bath of 8 or 9 inches of water up to three times a day. Add a cup of Epsom salts if you wish but consult with your doctor before doing so if you have a chronic illness. Trying sitting for 10 or 15 minutes each time and enjoy the soothing relief.
These top seven tips work well to heal your hemorrhoids when used in time. However, you should pay attention to any warning signs that are observed.
