20 Jun 2009Calorie Shifting. Wait. Before you start. Let me tell you what you need to know first. Take a few minutes now to prepare yourself for success.
Mindset- You are far more likely to succeed at anything you do if you have the right mindset for the task. That is especially true for dieting and weight loss. It’s a good idea to spend some time visualizing how you will benefit from a good weight loss plan. Study yourself in that mirror and visualize the image you wish you could see looking back at you. Okay. Now, write out your fat loss goals on a small piece of paper and post it someplace where you can see it every morning. READ it every day. Let it motivate your weight loss efforts for that day. Keep on track.
Even though the calorie shifting cycle is only 11 days, which is a lot shorter than with most diet plans, it can feel like forever when everyone else is going to town without any restrictions on their meals. So plan ahead for these challenges with your strong images and positive mindset.
Support- Try to convince your friends and family and people you work with that they really make things difficult when they tempt you just for fun or try to get you to cheat on your plan. They might believe “just one won’t hurt” but you know better. Tell them that you get a break in just 11 days when you can eat whatever you want. Explain that you need their support in your weight loss campaign.
Preparation- Since you can eat the daily menu items in any order, plan to eat those with little or no preparation for times when you cannot cook. Look over the daily menu for the upcoming Calorie Shifting diet cycle. Check that there are no food items on it that you are intolerant of or allergic to. Then you write a grocery list and go to the supermarket! The key is to only buy what is on that list. Sometimes that is the most challenging part of the whole thing.
For instance, you can get bacon that can be prepared in the microwave at 10 seconds per slice if you have a microwave and refrigerator at work. I tried them and they are good but a bit expensive for me. So if you don’t have access to a microwave and your lunch time is short, take nuts, fruit, bread, etc. to work.
Perspective- No matter how much weight you lose, without muscle tone and good health, you are not going to look good in that bathing suit. So build in some exercise, even though the Calorie Shifting fat loss method does not require it. I schedule some some cardio and resistance exercise each week. If you cannot do that, make it a point to be active and heart-healthy in some other way.
