28 May 2009Millions of hard earned dollars are spent on gimmick ab machines every month by people expecting to get a six pack stomach in return for some easy exercises. These companies are making a fortune selling machines that don’t even do the job they are intended for.
The infomercials that you view on all the shopping channels use models with toned stomachs using the equipment to illustrate the results you’ll get. The problem is, these models had their flat, toned stomachs long before they started using the apparatus they’re demonstrating.
You can exercise with every piece of equipment ever created to flatten your abdomen, but if you possess a coating of fat over your abs then you’ll never have a six pack. There’s a lot more to getting a washboard stomach than exercising with a useless gimmick to tone muscles that you already have.
These manufacturers lead you to think that you’re not in possession of any muscles on your belly, when in truth, everybody does. All you’re required to do is lose the fat on your stomach and then your toned stomach will be revealed. Doing 20 minutes a day on their equipment won’t reveal your abs any more than they are already.
Getting a six pack stomach requires you to raise your metabolic rate so your body burns the extra fat you’re carrying. Abdominal workouts are just a little component of essentially achieving a washboard stomach. The main concern is eliminating fat so your muscles can be exposed. A hundred crunches every day won’t get you a six pack if you’re in possession of a layer of fat on your belly.
To lose fat you must use whole body workouts so you raise your metabolic rate to the point where it burns fat for 48 hours after your workout has finished. This is done by exercising as many muscles as possible in a short amount of time. Just exercising your abs on a new machine you’ve purchased will not get rid of the fat on your stomach. It will tone your muscles slightly, but the fat that covers them will prevent you seeing them any more than before you started using your new equipment.
You only need to do 3 intense workouts a week of 45 minutes to completely transform your body into something you’ve always dreamed of. Your metabolic rate is the key to getting a six pack stomach, and not some machine that has been demonstrated by a fitness model who has already supercharged their own metabolism before they ever used that ab machine.
