This article is about an unfriendly term for a women who dates a rich man – the Gold Digger.

Some people love the luxuries that being rich brings. Further, they strive with the pressures that also come with these luxuries. Occasionally these people are women who, rather than earn the riches themselves, hope to marry into riches. As such, they pursue and date wealthy men exclusively.

People are just different from each other. One person should not apply their own decisions and views across to other people. We should be able to live in harmony, celebrating each others differences. The simple fact is that some people live well and thrive in a situation of abundance and wealth, others don’t. The pressures and issues which comes with wealth has the power to destroy people’s lives. You see it quite often when people win lotto. They go from a happy rags to an unhappy riches and usually back to rags in short order.

Being rich is not for everyone. Personally, I’d prefer a fulfilling life with my family than give the priority and commitment to career that many of the wealthy have. But that is just me. In our amazing world of difference and variety, there are people who can only exist with the benefits and pressures of such an existence. Living in such a reality is what brings out the best in them and is the reality where they can be “whole”.

So why is it then, when someone understands themself, knows that this type of lifestyle is the one they need to be the best person they can be and goes out to find a partner who has a similar view on life, they are labelled a “gold digger”. Its just silly. Once again, it seems people label other people simply because of their own intolerance.

If you are being honest with yourself, if you know what you need to be the best person you can be, just go for it. If in your circumstance, this means finding a wealthy or successful partner, great. Good luck. There are plenty of dating sites out there which cater specifically to your circumstance

And never mind those who are detractors. Their opinions always say more about them anyway, than they do about you.
