29 Jul 2009Many individuals are now starting to learn how to make gold in World of Warcraft with recipes. Recipes specify various components that are required in order to create a particular item. Recipes are typically engaged in by characters that are working a particular profession, or are part of a certain class. In addition to this, character levels and profession levels have an impact on the ability to learn and produce certain recipes. While trainers offer specialized recipes to characters, there are vendors throughout the various continents in World of Warcraft and particular enemies that may drop recipes at random.
Keep in mind that no matter what you choose to do, everyone starts at level 1. The only way to increase your abilities is by using various recipes to reach a higher status. This will allow you to make armor, weapons, food, potions, glyphs, jewelry, and so much more. In the beginning it will be easy to reach 75, 150, or even 225 skill level points. Unfortunately, the higher you go, the more expensive it is to purchase the mats for each recipe. However, the good news is you’ll be able to sell it for more in the Auction House (most of the time). Then again, you could skip over all the time that is spent farming for all the mats, and simply purchase and resell the recipes in the AH.
Recipes are known by many different names in World of Warcraft. Recipes that are used by the professions of Leatherworking and Tailoring are often referred to as “Patterns”. When it comes to recipes that are specific to the profession of First Aid, they are commonly referred to as “Manuals” and even a “Formula”. For those specializing in Engineering, the recipe is identified as “Schematics”. The Jewelcrafting profession will refer to recipes as “Designs”. Those that work in Enchanting will call their recipes “Formulas”. Blacksmithing professionals in World of Warcraft call recipes “Plans”. Alchemy specialists will call their recipes by what they are – “Recipes”. The same holds true for those that specialize in Cooking as a profession. If you plan to make gold in World of Warcraft by buying and reselling recipes for a profit, it is important that you are able to properly identify these products in the game.
Alright, are you ready to start making gold using recipes? The best way to start is by analyzing the AH or downloading the “Auctioneer” add-on. This allows you to find all the recipes that are being undersold. This way, you can purchase them, then turn around and sell them for the regular price. Once you’ve done everything you could here, it’s time to look at the popularity and level of the recipe. It’s safe to say that the majority of the beginner level recipes won’t sell for the same amount as higher levels. This is especially true if you come across a gray or white recipe. The good news is it won’t cost much for the materials, but it won’t sell for much either. Nowadays you might get lucky and receive 50 silver to about 6 gold for a smaller recipe, but it depends on how easy someone can obtain it in the World of Warcraft world.
Then again, you will notice that people like to make “Twink” characters. These are those over geared level 20 and up characters that head to the nearest battleground. The only reason we’re telling you this is because there are over 11 million people playing, and you need to have something for the low-levels, because they’ll be spending money. Take the “Brilliant Smallfish” recipe. It’s a lower level Cooking recipe that characters can use to gain health after a tough battle. It doesn’t cost you much to make it, and they won’t be spending ridiculous amounts of gold to purchase it. There are tons of recipes like this, so find the best one to make the most money off of and add it to the AH.
The next type of recipe that you can specialize in selling in World of Warcraft is the “Uncommon Quality”. The name of these recipes will be identified by the color green. Seeing that these recipes are used by individuals that are considered to be “mid-range” in their craft levels, these recipes can sell for less than a gold to a few gold a piece. If you are able to run across a vendor that sells recipes throughout the various areas in the game, it is a good idea to purchase them and place them on the Auction House for at least one gold or higher than you paid for them. Many players will purchase from the Auction House for convenience and by doing this, you will be able to make an endless amount of gold daily. Remember, though, do not place more than five of one type on the AH at any given time. The reason being is that another player is likely to come up and undercut you.
Once you reach the higher skill levels, it will be time to sell or make “Rare” or “Epic” recipes. For instance if you’re Tailoring, once you reach the higher 50s and low 60s of your character you’ll be able to make “Robe of the Void” and “Truefaith Vestments” patterns. However, it can cost more for the materials to make them then it could be sold for, so keep track of it. You don’t want to lose money off something. Instead, analyze the recipes and what they’re selling for, and also look at the price of what you could actually make. You might just make more money selling the recipe rather than the actual item. Just remember, no matter what you do there is always someone who wants to buy something in World of Warcraft.
As you can see, it is quite possible to make gold in World of Warcraft by buying and selling recipes on the Auction House. It is a financial endeavor that will prove to be exceptionally profitable. It may take some time to acquire the recipes, and a small in-game investment in order to be successful, but it is quite possible. You will be quite pleased at the income that can be generated in this manner on World of Warcraft. You will also be very pleased with the fact that it is quite simple to conduct this type of business. This is a gold making secret on World of Warcraft that many players with the highest earnings use to stay successful.
