Bruce Almighty: Bruce Nolen wants more. He feels he deserves to be the next anchorman at the TV news station where he works as a human interest reported. When it is announced that he won’t get the job, he loses it. When his prayers aren’t answered, he rages against God, who appears, and gives him an incredible offer, ‘if you think my job is so easy, then you do it’. Let’s see how Bruce does in his role as God.

This time it is life saver Sander who gets to be mortal, joining his old celestial buddy who’s now wedded to a carnival entertainer. The Broadway: Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers re-teamed after 10 years in this clever Comedy. Green script in reference to show biz couple who split, then make up. Melodies contain “You’d Be Difficult to Substitute,” “They Couldn’t Take That Away from Me.” Ginger scanning “La Marseillaise” is a certain low point. Cast includes Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Oscar Levant, Billie Burke, and Gale Robbins. (109 minutes, 1949)

Fletch Lives: Fletch is off to Louisiana for a little adventure. He has inherited an estate property from his dead aunt. He meets a young female lawyer in the small town, and after they spend the night together she winds up dead in his bed. Now Fletch finds himself in a serious investigation.
