We need to keep our minds open in order to find the relation between existing technologies for telemarketing to continue to develop. New technology that is user friendly, accessible and creative.

Call centers are a great example of these types of adaptations. Nowadays some call centers are using instant messenger to solve their customers’ technical problems. There are representatives whose work is to chat with customers to help them solve their problems.

The use of Voip is becoming more and more popular to place calls to other countries from the internet. Voip allow companies to place calls from a computer directly to a customer’s land line or cell phone.

Telemarketing is under the category of retail sales technology. This had two meanings. The first one, reminds us that the interaction with the customer is the fundamental element of any telemarketing endeavor, for example when the phone is used to talk to a customer or when communication is established directly via chat.

The second implication is the close relationship between the sales representative and the customer. Telemarketing is not a substitute for direct sales and should not be taken as such, it merely complements those functions. Telemarketing will save companies money when you a sales person can close a sale on the phone, or when customers can get technical support through instant messaging instead of having to send a technician over.
