14 Mar 2009When selecting commercial fluorescent lighting fixtures it’s important to get the best. That’s why a store with a large selection your best option. At the end of the day, people can argue that niche and boutique stores are great but time is money .
The best place to start is a large store with really good feedback from previous clients. Larger stores have a huge variety of choices to select from as well as some new trends and maybe some cheaper options. Conventional commercial fluorescent lighting fixtures are great for general stores but if you have a specialty store you may want to try something different.
How can lighting make a difference to your store? There are a number of ways that different lighting can influence your customers and get them to buy more.
* Bright lights can generate a happy atmosphere: a lot of marketing companies have put countless hours into researching the right types of lighting to encourage customers to buy. Generally a brighter light makes a customer feel more positive and happy to part with their cash. Darker stores tend to discourage buying.
*A Bright store will also attract more customers: as people are passing by, there’s more chance they will be enticed to enter a bright looking store. Conversely, dark or dimly lit stores are no enticement to people as they pass by. It’s human nature to be drawn to bright objects and locations.
* A store with shaded light: can bring a little mystery if the product suits. Obviously, specialty stores like a Halloween store need to create a dark and mysterious look. However, unless you’re selling scary masks it’s a good idea to avoid such mystery.
* Tinted light: this also creates atmosphere. Different shades and colors of lighting can create a special look and feel to your store and encourage customers to buy.
In summary, a larger lighting store will have a wider selection for you to choose from. A well spread out location will also be able to dedicate different areas of the store to displays that show, first hand, the effect given by the lights. After all, you wouldn’t buy a car without a test drive first, would you? Give yourself a little time to walk around and see how the different lighting affects your own mood before you decide on what’s best for your location.
As mentioned previously, levels of lighting really can affect the way a customer feels. It can also affect the way your staff feel. Consider your options carefully and make the right decision the first time to avoid costly changes later.
