28 Mar 2009You buy online for convenience. However, that convenience can turn to inconvenience extremely fast if the product’s shipping is delayed. You need the product to come straight to your door, no delays.
The sorts of delays involved with shipping problems can be frustrating or even downright infuriating. Lighting fixtures can create flow on effects if they are delayed, because you may have an electrician waiting to fit them.
So how can you ensure that your products will be delivered on the day promised and in a safe and sound state? The easiest way is to do some homework on the company you’re thinking of dealing with. Look for these indicators:
* Make sure it’s an established company: most web sites have an “about us” page, which is a page dedicated to the history of the company. There should be details about the company and their business history.
* A good FAQ page: a good company will have a comprehensive FAQ page made up of all the common questions that their customers have asked over the years that the company has been in business.
* A good variety: established companies will have a good variety of products and ask if they have the product in stock when you order. Whether they have the product in stock or not will indicate the depth of stock they carry and an item in stock should get to you faster than one that has to be ordered in.

* FAQ: Look for indications of how much time it will take to ship items on average. An organization that has been in business for a while will know exactly how long it takes for their items to be shipped to various states and perhaps even countries.
* Link to shipping and handling provider : If they outsource shipping and handling, check out the company that provides that service.
What about a way to tell if the company you’re dealing with is a middle man.
* The “about us” page: Another great source of information. Typically you’ll be able to tell if the company is a middle man or not.
