The bad four letter word ” Taxes. No one ever likes taxes, never have and never will, and why should we like taxes? Unfortunately, as much as we all hate them, they are necessary and no two people agree on how the format should be set up to be fair.

One of the biggest hurdles politicians deal with are tax generation and government spending. In times like we are in with increased government spending, this has to mean increased taxes, but who will be saddled with the majority of the burden?

Consumers will typically want corporations to carry the majority of the tax burden while the corporations are on life support currently and expect the tax generation to come from the consumer.

Since many companies have been starving for work to keep their employees working, many business owners have gone into significant debt in an attempt to breathe some life into their companys. If the employer can make his payroll, employer contributions, rent, insuranceand all else that is required in running a business. Many company owners have been taking losses over the last few years which mean they do not have the available funds to even cover their own personal expenses.

The general consensus with the public at large is that those that are business owners make the most money so they should be carrying the most debt. Most see it from the perspective that since their checks are coming from the company, the company then has lots of money, any should carry most of the expensesthose who make the most should carry most of the burden.

Then the matter of when the taxes are collected, where will the money be spent? Does it go to Corporate bailouts or social programs like schools and healthcare? Will it go towards civil projects or off-shore aid? Military or the Arts?

Please comment on the allocation of Taxation and Government Spending: Which is more important to you?
